A special release from the Moldovan national postal authorities ensured a happy 20th birthday for the Football Association of Moldova (FMF) on 14 April.
The 20th anniversary of the Football Association of Moldova (FMF) has been marked by the issuing of a special airmail envelope by the country's postal service.
The association worked with Moldova's post office to produce the FMF 1990-2010 envelope which comes complete with a commemorative postmark and stamp.
The anniversary airmail depicts 40 leading figures from the history of Moldovan football, set above a backdrop of Chisinau's Republican Stadium, the domestic game's top venue since 1950.
The '20 de ani' birthday stamp shows the FMF headquarters alongside the organisation's logo. The postmark has a nominal value of MDL 1.20.
A series of 12 commemorative stamps will also be issued in the near future following the success of the special edition envelope. The FMF – Federaţia Moldovenească de Fotbal – was founded on 14 April 1990.
