UEFA has appointed the match officials for the UEFA Super Cup match between the UEFA Champions League winners, FC Internazionale Milano, and the UEFA Europa League winners, Club Atlético de Madrid, to be played on Friday 27 August at the Stade Louis II in Monaco, kicking-off at 20.45 CET.
Massimo Busacca of Switzerland has been selected to officiate at the final and his team will be completed by Matthias Arnet and Manuel Navarro, who will operate as assistant referees, with Sascha Kever acting as fourth official. Stephan Studer and Cyril Zimmermann will complete the referee team acting as additional assistant referees.
The 41-year old official from Bellinzona, who has been an international referee since 1999, has officiated in total 86 UEFA matches in his refereeing career. Last season in the UEFA Champions League the Swiss refereehandled three group stage matches, one first knock-out round match, one quarter-final and the second leg of the semi-final between Olympique Lyonnais and FC Bayern München.
In the recent years, Massimo Busacca has been appointed for several prestigious club competition finals and national team matches, including the final of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup in Glasgow between RCD Espanyol and Sevilla FC, the final of the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League in Rome between FC Barcelona and Manchester United FC, as well as the UEFA EURO 2008 semi-final between Germany and Turkey.
