Juventus coach Luigi Delneri was frustrated by his old side UC Sampdoria as the two teams played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in Turin, on a day when AC Chievo Verona hit the Serie A summit courtesy of a 3-1 success at Genoa CFC.
Delneri joined Juve from Sampdoria this summer and is still awaiting a first league win with his new side after Nicola Pozzi earned the Blucerchiati a share of the spoils with his second strike 17 minutes from the end. Antonio Cassano was also on target for the visitors, with Claudio Marchisio, Simone Pepe and Fabio Quagliarella finding the net for the 16th-placed Bianconeri as they at least clinched their first point of the campaign.
Chievo boast six, meanwhile, after they came from behind to triumph in Genoa, Davide Moscardelli levelling on the stroke of half-time before efforts from Michele Marcolini and Sergio Pellissier sealed the result. Elsewhere, S.S. Lazio defeated Bologna FC 3-1, UEFA Europa League contenders US Città di Palermo lost 3-2 at Brescia Calcio and US Lecce downed ACF Fiorentina 1-0.
AS Bari are fifth after salvaging a 2-2 draw at SSC Napoli. Paolo Cannavaro's 86th-minute goal looked to have secured victory for the hosts but Castillo struck back two minutes later to ensure the spoils were shared.
