FC Twente have recruited out-of-contract striker Anouar Diba until the end of the season after the 27-year-old former Moroccan international impressed on trial with the Dutch titleholders.
Diba had been training with Twente since August after leaving Dubai club al-Nasr SC, and following his signing went straight into the squad for Wednesday's 3-1 Eredivisie victory at Willem II.
Diba last played in the Dutch top flight during the 2006/07 campaign with NAC Breda, for whom he scored 16 league goals in 113 appearances after making his professional debut in 2003.
The Utrecht-born player, capped once by Morocco in 2006, can operate up front or as an attacking midfielder. Diba is not eligible to represent Twente in European competition before the new year. His new club are bottom of UEFA Champions League Group A with two points from three games, level with SV Werder Bremen whom they visit on 2 November.
