Zlatan Ibrahimović's seventh league goal of the season enabled AC Milan to stretch their Serie A lead to four points with a 1-0 victory against ACF Fiorentina, while AS Roma moved into third place after overcoming Udinese Calcio 2-0.

Ibrahimović broke the deadlock in spectacular style at San Siro, flicking the ball up for himself to beat Artur Boruc with a bicycle kick on the stroke of half-time. Milan, who travel to UEFA Champions League Group G opponents AJ Auxerre on Tuesday, have won their last four league matches in succession and seven out of their last eight. S.S. Lazio will be hoping to reduce that lead to one point when facing Parma FC on Sunday.

Udinese would have gone level on points with FC Internazionale Milano and Juventus had they triumphed at Roma and both Maurizio Domizzi and Antonio Di Natale hit the woodwork for the visitors. However a wonderful individual goal by Jérémy Menez on 24 minutes turned the match in Roma's favour and Marco Borriello settled the contest early in the second half. Roma, who had Nicolás Burdisso sent off late on, are seven points adrift of Milan as they prepare for the crucial visit of FC Bayern München.
