LOSC Lille Métropole have taken over at the top in France after Moussa Sow hit a hat-trick in a thrilling 6-3 home triumph against FC Lorient, with champions Olympique de Marseille beaten 1-0 at OGC Nice.
Unable to meet due to weather conditions on Saturday, Lille and Lorient served up a scintillating, if belated, contest 24 hours later. Kevin Gameiro put the visitors in front as early as the sixth minute only for Sow to open his account five minutes afterwards, and it was not long before a Maxime Baca own goal (17) gifted Lille the advantage.
Gameiro restored parity on the stroke of half-time and Lynel Kitambala (57) brought Lorient level once more after Sow (48) had struck again, but Gervinho responded for the home side barely a minute later. Senegalese international Sow then notched his 13th Ligue 1 effort this term (82) and team-mate Pierre-Alain Frau (88) rounded off the scoring.
That took Lille top of the pile and Marseille proved unable to hit back as they were undone by Emerse Faé's added-time winner at Nice. Didier Deschamps's charges trail Les Dogues by two points in fourth, with Paris Saint-Germain FC a point above OM in second after they downed Stade Brestois 29 3-1. AS Saint-Étienne drew 2-2 with FC Girondins de Bordeaux in the late game.
