Olympique Lyonnais hauled themselves up to third place in Ligue 1 courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 triumph against Toulouse FC, before Stade Rennais FC missed the chance to leapfrog them with a goalless draw at FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
Lisandro got Lyon off to the best of starts when he headed in with five minutes gone, following up after visiting goalkeeper Matthieu Valverde could only parry a vicious Michel Bastos shot. Claude Puel's charges doubled their advantage when Kim Källström played in Bafétimbi Gomis ten minutes before the interval.
Lyon now lie two points behind frontrunners LOSC Lille Métropole and one ahead of Rennes after they failed to find a way past Bordeaux in a tight encounter at the Stade Chaban-Delmas. In seventh, AS Saint-Étienne recorded their first win in ten league outings by posting a 2-0 victory at AS Monaco FC, now one spot above the relegation zone.
