Fredrik Ljungberg has signed for Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic FC until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old forward, who won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with Arsenal FC between 1998 and 2007, could make his debut against rivals Rangers FC on Sunday. "He's done very well in the two days we've seen him," said Celtic manager Neil Lennon after Ljungberg had passed a medical.
"I've seen more than enough to know he would be a good addition. There's a bit of hunger about Freddie. He's a consistent player and has been for a long time." Ljungberg began his career – during which he has won 75 Sweden caps – at Halmstads BK, before spending a decade in England with Arsenal and West Ham United FC. He has spent the past two seasons playing in the United States.
