AC Milan stretched their Serie A lead to six points after their 3-0 victory at Bologna FC was followed by a 2-1 reverse for S.S. Lazio at Juventus.

The Rossoneri made it ten wins from 12 league outings and went ahead in the ninth minute, Kevin-Prince Boateng prodding in a cross from Zlatan Ibrahimović. Boateng then released Robinho ten minutes before half-time and Massimiliano Allegri's side rounded off their triumph when Ibrahimović (60) hit his ninth Serie A strike of the campaign. Christian Abbiati ensured they kept a clean sheet by saving a penalty from Bologna captain Marco Di Vaio.

Lazio had hoped to close the lead to three points but were up against it from the start at Juventus, with Giorgio Chiellini on target after two minutes. Mauro Zárate levelled (14) soon after, yet the Biancocelesti were denied even a draw when goalkeeper Fernando Muslera palmed a Miloš Krasić cross into his net four minutes into added time. Juve leapt up to second as a result.

Also on Sunday, AS Roma climbed to sixth with a 1-0 home win against lowly AS Bari and fourth-bottom Brescia Calcio gave Mario Beretta a winning start to his tenure by defeating UC Sampdoria 1-0. US Lecce lifted themselves to 18th after overcoming AC Chievo Verona 3-2, while Nenê hit a hat-trick as Cagliari Calcio ran out 3-0 victors against nine-man Calcio Catania.
