Article body
Vincenzo Montella's reign as AS Roma coach got off to successful start with a 1-0 victory at Bologna FC thanks to Daniele De Rossi's first-half goal.
De Rossi's 45th-minute winner in the rearranged Serie A fixture owed much to the industry of Mirko Vučinić, who dispossessed Federico Casarini on the byline and pulled the ball back for the Italy midfielder to step inside and score at the near post with the aid of a significant deflection. The result ends a run of four successive losses in all competitions for the Giallorossi and lifts them into sixth, six points shy of the top four.
Next up for Roma is the visit of Parma FC to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday in what will be Montella's first home match since succeeding Claudio Ranieri this week.
