Borussia Dortmund confirmed their Bundesliga dominance with an impressive 3-1 victory against FC Bayern München.

In an entertaining match, the parity restored by Luiz Gustavo's volley (16), following Lucas Barrios's opener, lasted but two minutes as Nuri Şahin put the visitors in the ascendancy. Dortmund's 18th league triumph of the season was completed by Mats Hummels's header (60). Jürgen Klopp's men are 13 points clear of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, who visit SV Werder Bremen on Sunday, and 16 ahead of fourth-placed Bayern.

The day's remaining matches looked destined to end in draws before Hannover 96, 1. FSV Mainz 05 and 1. FC Köln scored late winners. In Hannover's case, Christian Schulz pounced with a minute remaining to earn his side a 1-0 victory at FC St Pauli and third place, while Mainz are four points further back in fifth after Andreas Ivanschitz (23) and Elkin Soto (86) condemned TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to a 2-1 defeat.

Lukas Podolski's tenth league strike of the campaign (88), meanwhile, took Köln up to 11th following a single-goal victory against SC Freiburg. Elsewhere, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and FC Schalke 04 were held to 1-1 draws by Hamburger SV and 1. FC Nürnberg respectively.
