Olympique de Marseille pulled themselves back up to second and within four points of Ligue 1 leaders LOSC Lille Métropole courtesy of a 2-1 triumph against traditional rivals Paris Saint-Germain FC.
Beaten by Lille two weeks ago, the French champions made sure they kept Rudi Garcia's men in sight by exacting revenge for their 2-1 loss in the capital in November. Gabriel Heinze put the hosts in front direct from a 16th-minute free-kick and André Ayew headed in the decisive goal ten minutes before the break, not long after Clément Chantôme (27) had restored parity for PSG.
Also on Sunday, AS Monaco FC lie third-bottom after a 1-0 home loss against AS Nancy-Lorraine that lifted the victors to 14th, one place behind SM Caen, who dispatched bottom side AC Arles-Avignon 2-0.
