Elections are the main item on the agenda for the XXXV Ordinary UEFA Congress, which takes place at the Grand Palais in Paris on Tuesday. Delegates from UEFA's 53 member national associations will be in the French capital to attend European football's annual parliament and vote in an election for members of the FIFA and UEFA Executive Committees.

UEFA President Michel Platini, who is the only candidate in the election for the UEFA presidency, will address the Congress and highlight the past year's activities within European football's governing body. The Congress will elect seven members of the UEFA Executive Committee and two members of the FIFA Executive Committee – one vice-president and one member.

The chairmen of UEFA's standing committees will also report on their respective committee's work. In addition, the Congress in Paris will be asked to approve the reports of the UEFA President/Executive Committee and the UEFA administration for the 2009/10 period, as well as UEFA's financial accounts for 2009/10, the strategic financial outlook until 2015/16 and the budget for the 2011/12 financial year.

The UEFA Congress is UEFA's supreme controlling organ. An Ordinary Congress is held every year, as a rule prior to a FIFA Congress.
