The Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) has staged a training course for amateur coaches from the country's regional football federations at its headquarters in Kyiv.
The aim was to help coaches working with amateur youth teams participating at national or regional levels and who, in accordance with UEFA recommendations, should hold an FFU C licence by 2011.
A number of respected football figures spoke to the course delegates at the event last month, including FFU technical director Kostiantyn Vikhrov, professors Viacheslav Popov and Valentyna Voronova, and representatives of the FFU scientific department and licensing committee.
Topics discussed were the implementation of FFU C licence training across the regional associations, the organisation of football theory classes, and the systematic scheduling of studying and training within a player's education. Also covered was the importance of providing practical teaching and hands-on experience for those following the coaching courses.
FFU president Grygoriy Surkis, general secretary Oleksandr Bandurko and technical director Vikhrov were among the high-profile attendees as an initial group of 24 coaches working in youth football received their C licences which qualify them to work throughout Ukraine.
