The UEFA Champions League trophy will be handed over by UEFA to the host city of London at a special ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday 20 April 2011, at 12.30 local time, at the Guildhall (Great Hall), Gresham St London EC2V THH.
UEFA President Michel Platini will hand the trophy to the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, for the city to keep and display to the public until this season's UEFA Champions League final is played at Wembley Stadium, on Saturday 28 May at 19.45 local time.
The Chairman of The Football Association, David Bernstein, the lord mayor of London, Michael Bear, the ambassador for this year's UEFA Champions League final, former English striker legend Gary Lineker and representatives of last season's UEFA Champions League winners FC Internazionale Milano will be among the renowned personalities attending the event.
The trophies of both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Women's Champions League will then go on a tour through London from 21 April to 20 May. The trophies will subsequently be exposed as of 21 May in Hyde Park for the UEFA Champions Festival during the entire week prior to the finals.
