Differdange retain Luxembourger Cup

FC Differdange 03 defeated champions F91 Dudelange 1-0 to lift the Luxembourger Cup for the second successive year and win a spot in next term's UEFA Europa League.

FC Differdange 03 defended their Luxembourger Cup crown thanks to a 1-0 victory against league champions F91 Dudelange at the Stade Josy Barthel.

Despite going into the game as underdogs, Differdange prevented Dudelange from securing a fourth league and cup double through Ribeiro Alves's 24th-minute strike. Differdange, who finished 16 points behind their opponents in fourth, frustrated the champions and were rewarded for their organisation and endeavour when Alves put them ahead with an excellent effort.

Differdange resiliently defended their slender advantage and kept Dudelange at bay to secure the silverware and a place in next season's UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.
