Olympique Lyonnais have climbed to the top in Ligue 1 after securing a 2-0 triumph against title rivals Olympique de Marseille.

Michel Bastos played a leading role in the result after racing down the left and crossing for Bafétimbi Gomis to turn in the opener on 17 minutes, and then burying the second himself just before the half-hour. The win sent unbeaten Lyon a point clear at the summit and left 2009/10 champions Marseille bottom without a league victory yet this season.

Also on Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain FC had to fight back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at promoted Evian Thonon Gaillard, Javier Pastore (43) and Mathieu Bodmer (80) saving face for the capital club. Stade Rennais FC drew 1-1 with AS Nancy-Lorraine, who were grateful for Andre Luiz's 78th-minute penalty for their point.
