Udinese Calcio and Juventus maintained their unbeaten starts to the Serie A season with draws at Cagliari Calcio and Calcio Catania respectively, while the only other side yet to taste defeat, Atalanta BC, were 2-1 winners at home to Novara Calcio.

Udinese boast the meanest defence in Serie A having only conceded one goal so far this term and it was their resilience which proved critical as they held out for a goalless draw at Cagliari. As for Juventus, level with the Friulani on eight points at the summit, they fell behind to Gonzalo Bergessio's first Catania goal (21) but responded four minutes after the break through Miloš Krasić to earn a share of the spoils.

Now up to 13th, Atalanta picked up their third win of the campaign against Novara. Goals from Ezequiel Schelotto (34) and Luca Cigarini (59) gave them a two-goal advantage before Filippo Porcari grabbed a consolation for the visitors a minute from time.

Elsewhere, AC Chievo Verona condemned ten-man Genoa CFC to their first defeat of the season thanks to substitute Davide Moscardelli's added-time goal, while the game between S.S. Lazio and US Città di Palermo finished goalless. AC Siena ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at home to US Lecce courtesy of a Manuele Calaio double, and AS Roma prevailed 1-0 at Parma FC to clinch their maiden league win this season.
