FC Internazionale Milano and AS Roma are still seeking their first Serie A win of the season following a goalless draw between the teams which was marred by an injury to Maarten Stekelenburg.

The Roma goalkeeper, signed in the summer from AFC Ajax, was carried off on 18 minutes with his neck in a brace after colliding with Lúcio while sliding out to prevent the defender from reaching a through ball. His replacement, Bogdan Lobonţ, was seldom called into serious action thereafter but did well to deny Wesley Sneijder in the second half.

Tha draw means Inter, beaten 4-3 last Sunday by US Città di Palermo, have failed to win either of their opening two Serie A fixtures for the first time since 2004/05. By starting the game at San Siro, Javier Zanetti equalled Giuseppe Bergomi's record of 756 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

In the early kick-off, Cagliari Calcio made it two wins out of two with a 2-1 home victory against Novara Calcio. Thiago Ribeiro and Joaquín Larrivey were on target for the Sardinian side, with Takayuki Morimoto replying for the promoted club. Sunday's big game matches SSC Napoli with AC Milan.
