Juventus moved back to the Serie A summit after Leonardo Bonucci and Alessandro Matri scored in a 2-1 home victory against ACF Fiorentina on Tuesday.
Bonucci pounced to poke in after Artur Boruc had saved from Arturo Vidal 13 minutes in, but the home side proceeded to miss numerous chances thereafter and were punished by the Viola when Stevan Jovetić scored just before the hour.
However, Matri, who like Jovetić scored twice at the weekend, was on hand to finish off Simone Pepe's cross with 25 minutes remaining. The Bianconeri's fourth league win of the season moves them a point clear of Udinese Calcio, who face a tough trip to fifth-placed SSC Napoli on Wednesday.
S.S. Lazio, who sit two points behind, could also overtake Juve if they record a fourth win in a row against Calcio Catania. Fiorentina are 12th after picking up just three points from their last five games.
