Olympique Lyonnais and Montpellier Hérault SC will share the Ligue 1 leadership with Paris Saint-Germain FC for 24 hours at least thanks to comfortable home wins against AS Nancy-Lorraine and Dijon FCO respectively on Saturday.

Lyon warmed up for their trip to Real Madrid CF on Tuesday with an emphatic 3-1 success against Nancy, three strikes in six first-half minutes effectively deciding the match. Michel Bastos was twice on target (25, 31) either side of Bafétimbi Gomis's seventh league goal of the season (28).

Montpellier joined them on 20 points after ten matches but had to come from 2-0 down – Benjamin Corgnet scoring in the 9th and 11th minutes – to complete a 5-3 win against Dijon. Olivier Giroud, with a second-half hat-trick, was the man behind the recovery.

LOSC Lille Métropole rose to fourth after coming from behind to beat AJ Auxerre 3-1, although the home side were still in the game until Mathieu Debuchy scored a penalty five minutes into added time.

AS Saint-Étienne and OGC Nice also won while Stade Brestois 29 and SM Caen drew 1-1 and Marseille remain with just one league success this term after being held 0-0 at home by Toulouse FC. PSG travel to AC Ajaccio on Sunday.
