Juventus striker Mirko Vučinić has been named as Montenegro's player of the year for the fifth time in six seasons after a poll of coaches and captains from the nation's 12 top-flight clubs conducted by the Football Federation of Montenegro (FSCG).

His final total of 86 points was 33 more than that of the second-ranked player, ACF Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetić, with Manchester City FC defender Stevan Savić finishing third. "It is a great honour, as always, to be considered the best in my country," said Vučinić, who featured in the Montenegro side that lost out to the Czech Republic in the UEFA EURO 2012 play-offs. "We had a very eventful 2011, unfortunately without a happy end, but I hope we can take a step forward in the next qualifying campaign, for the 2014 FIFA World Cup."

FK Budućnost Podgorica midfielder Dragan Bošković was acknowledged as the top player in the domestic league, ahead of team-mate Sanibal Orahovac and FK Rudar Pljevlja left-back Blažo Igumanović. "This award can't be won alone," said Bošković, 26. "So, I want to thank my team-mates and the fans for helping me to win this special prize. My hope is to be better in the second part of the season and to win the Montenegrin title with Budućnost."

FK Rudar Pljevlja's Dragan Radojičić was named as the best coach of 2011, after returning home following a spell in Serbia with FK Vojvodina and FK Novi Sad. He said: "I have come back to Montenegro after eight years and I am glad that my peers recognise my desire to give my best, not only for my team, but for Montenegrin football. Now I have to work even harder and better."
