MKS Cracovia Kraków forward Alexandru Suvorov has been voted Moldovan player of the year for 2011.

In a poll conducted by the Football Association of Moldova (FMF), Suvorov finished ahead of national team captain and FC Dinamo Moskva defender Alexandru Epureanu, who had landed the title for the previous two years. Centre-back Igor Armaş of FC Kuban Krasnodar was third.

"I do not believe I am the best, just that I have played a bit better than some others this year," the 24-year-old told UEFA.com. The former FC Sheriff striker was the only player to appear in all ten of Moldova's UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying matches and top-scored with four goals.
