US Città di Palermo have parted company with coach Devis Mangia in the wake of Sunday's 2-0 Sicilian derby defeat by Calcio Catania.
Serie A debutant Mangia, 37, took over from Stefano Pioli early this season after Palermo were eliminated from the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round by Swiss side FC Thun.
Mangia has been replaced by Bartolo Mutti, who led Palermo in Serie B in the 2001/02 season. The 57-year-old has twice been called in as a mid-season replacement in the last two seasons, taking over at Atalanta BC and AS Bari respectively, but failed to save both sides from relegation.
Palermo are tenth in Serie A, having won six of their seven home games, but are yet to score a goal in eight away matches, earning just two points on the road. Mangia is the ninth coach to leave his post in the Italian top flight this campaign.
