US Città di Palermo have signed goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano from FC Internazionale Milano, though the Nerazzurri will retain 50% of the Italian international's playing licence.

The 26-year-old, who has signed a contract until 2016, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in July after joining Inter from Bologna FC and is yet to play this season. Capped six times by Italy, Viviano had established himself as deputy for Gianluigi Buffon and is aiming to force his way into Cesare Prandelli's squad for UEFA EURO 2012.

The former Brescia Calcio No1 joins a Palermo side that sit ninth in Serie A under Bortolo Mutti, who is still searching for his first league victory at the helm after replacing Devis Mangia last month.
