Coach Jürgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Zorc have signed contract extensions at Borussia Dortmund after steering the club to the German title last season.

Both are now committed to Dortmund until the summer of 2016, with Klopp explaining: "I have the good luck to work for a great club. For me as head coach, it is important that the contracts of my assistant coaches Željko Buvač and Peter Krawietz have been extended too. We have reason to be proud of the fact Dortmund have put their trust in us for such a long time."

Former striker Klopp, 44, moved from playing to coaching at 1. FSV Mainz 05 where he was in charge from 2001 until 2008, when he joined Dortmund. Having led the Westfalenstadion outfit back into Europe in 2009/10, he guided the Black-Yellows to a seventh league title – and first in nine years – the following season. His side are still challenging at the top end of the Bundesliga this term, though they exited the UEFA Champions League after the group stage.

Zorc, 49, has been the club's sporting director since 2005, having spent 17 years with Dortmund as a midfielder, winning the 1996/97 UEFA Champions League and two German championships. "I am glad to be able to continue this journey at BVB," he said.
