FC Internazionale Milano have now gone five games without a win in all competitions after suffering a 1-0 home loss to bottom club Novara Calcio.
On-loan forward Andrea Caracciolo buried the winning goal after 56 minutes to heap more misery on Claudio Ranieri's men, who succumbed 4-0 to AS Roma last time out. Novara lost midfielder Ivan Radovanović to a second yellow card ten minutes from time, but the hosts were still unable to pull level, despite Wesley Sneijder hitting the crossbar late on.
The result leaves the Nerazzurri in fifth, six points behind S.S. Lazio in the third and final UEFA Champions League spot. Elsewhere on Sunday, Calcio Catania moved further clear of the relegation zone by downing Genoa CFC 4-0, Pablo Barrientos scoring twice, and third-bottom US Lecce drew 0-0 at Atalanta BC.
Juventus's trip to Bologna FC and the match between Parma FC and ACF Fiorentina fell victim to the adverse weather conditions, meanwhile.
