The Turkish Football Association (TFF) is mourning former FIFA and UEFA dignitary Necdet Çobanlı who has passed away at the age of 91.
Necdet Çobanlı was born in Malatya in 1921 and worked for many years as a lawyer. He was elected as a member of the FIFA Executive Committee in 1976, going on to serve for 12 years before being made an honorary member of FIFA in 1988. In addition he was a highly respected member of the TFF Executive Committee.
Mr Çobanlı was a member of the UEFA Committee for the European Football Championship from 1972 to 1976 and later was a member of the Amicale des Anciens circle of former UEFA committee members.
