LOSC Lille Métropole returned to winning ways to earn a convincing 4-0 triumph against Valenciennes FC and move within nine points of leaders Paris Saint-Germain FC.
Without a victory in their last three outings, third-placed Lille took the lead against their local rivals when Túlio De Melo fed Eden Hazard with 18 minutes gone. Benjamin Angoua's own goal then gave the hosts breathing space close to the hour mark, before Aurélien Chedjou headed in a Hazard corner and De Melo capped a comfortable victory six minutes from time.
Also on Sunday, Toulouse FC moved back up to fourth spot with a 1-0 triumph at Stade Rennais FC. A Romain Danzé own goal just before the interval made the difference to lift the visitors back above Olympique Lyonnais.
Second-bottom FC Sochaux-Montbéliard made it two wins in a row, meanwhile, as they defeated fellow strugglers OGC Nice 2-0, Edouard Butin and Marvin Martin grabbing the goals.
