Germany midfielder Mario Götze has signed a two-year extension to his contract at Borussia Dortmund.

The deal ties the 19-year-old to the Bundesliga leaders until summer 2016, and Götze explained: "Everyone knows how I feel about Dortmund. The development of the team is far from over and I want to be a part of it."

The Bavarian-born playmaker has been on Dortmund's books since he was eight and after breaking into the team in November 2009, he played a key role as the Schwarzgelben captured the title last season. He has registered five goals in 14 league outings this term and Dortmund are five points clear at the summit with seven games to go.
