Everton FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC set up FA Cup semi-final derbies at Wembley next month after recording victories in the last eight.
Tottenham progressed to a tie against Chelsea FC following a 3-1 win against Bolton Wanderers FC in a quarter-final which was originally abandoned ten days ago when Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the White Hart Lane pitch.
The game was goalless, largely thanks to the form of Bolton goalkeeper Ádám Bogdán, until Ryan Nelsen headed in Rafael van der Vaart's 74th-minute corner. Gareth Bale (77) then finished off a swift Tottenham counterattack, clipping Jermain Defoe's pass over the goalkeeper, and while Kevin Davies replied for the visitors in added time, Louis Saha eased any nerves with a third goal.
Everton, meanwhile, will play Liverpool FC after a 2-0 victory at Sunderland AFC, Nikica Jelavić (7) setting the visitors on their way by sweeping in Magaye Gueye's cross. Jelavić was also involved in the Toffees' second goal, his shot being unwittingly turned in by Sunderland midfielder David Vaughan 12 minutes into the second half.
