SSC Napoli revived their hopes of finishing in the top three in Serie A after securing a 2-0 success against Novara Calcio.
First-half goals by Edinson Cavani and Paolo Cannavaro ended a run of three successive league defeats for Walter Mazzarri's side, whose last Serie A win came on 9 March.
The Partenopei are up to fifth place, a point behind Udinese Calcio, who drew 0-0 at AC Chievo Verona, and two shy of S.S. Lazio, who host US Lecce on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Catania Calcio moved up to eighth thanks to a 2-0 win against Atalanta BC, while Parma FC also triumphed at home, overcoming Cagliari Calcio 3-0 with the help of two penalties.
