RC Deportivo La Coruña marked their return to the Spanish Liga with a 2-0 home win against CA Osasuna.
The Galician club were back in the top flight after one season in the second tier and goals from Riki and Portugal striker Nélson Oliveira, who is on loan from SL Benfica, gave José Luis Oltra's team three points on Monday night.
Elsewhere, Roberto Trashorras scored in the fifth minute of added time as Rayo Vallacano de Madrid overcame Granada CF 1-0 at home while Real Valladolid CF won 1-0 at Real Zaragoza in the late game, Óscar González scoring the only goal.
