Olympique de Marseille triumphed 2-0 at AC Ajaccio to end a run of three Ligue 1 games without victory and move level at the summit with Paris Saint-Germain FC.

Without a win in the league since their six-game opening run of successes was ended by Valenciennes FC, Élie Baup's side finally had something to smile about as André Ayew and brother Jordan Ayew fired them to victory in Corsica with second-half strikes. They now trail PSG, who lost 2-1 to AS Saint-Étienne on Saturday, on goal difference alone and boast a game in hand.

One point further back, and also having played one match fewer than PSG, Olympique Lyonnais impressed as they swept aside SC Bastia 5-2. Maxime Gonalons and Alexandre Lacazette gave the hosts a 2-0 lead after 26 minutes, and although Wahbi Khazri and Jérôme Rothen quickly brought Bastia level – Rothen equalising from the spot after Dejan Lovren had been dismissed for impeding Florian Thauvin – a 56th-minute Lisandro spot kick put Lyon in front again.

Féthi Harek was sent off for the foul on Lacazette that led to that penalty, and Lyon increased their advantage in added time, a Jimmy Briand goal and Steed Malbranque's penalty rounding things off. The success kept Rémi Garde's men a point clear of Toulouse FC, who missed the chance to climb level with PSG and OM as Yoan Gouffran's 87th-minute effort consigned them to a 1-0 loss at FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
