Paris Saint-Germain FC regained the top spot in Ligue 1 after overcoming struggling ES Troyes Aube Champagne 4-0 at Parc des Princes.
After earning just one point from a possible nine in the league, Carlo Ancelotti's charges required some inspiration, and it arrived in the shape of talismanic striker Zlatan Ibrahimović. The Swedish international was returning from a two-match suspension, and quickly set about showing his importance to this PSG team by setting up Brazilian left-back Maxwell to slide the hosts into a half-time lead.
Ibrahimović and PSG moved up a gear after the break. The 30-year-old played in Blaise Matuidi to double the advantage midway through the second half before adding a left-footed third himself. He then completed the scoring in the final minute, tucking in Ezequiel Lavezzi's low centre.
In the pick of the late kick-offs, Stade Rennais FC passed up the chance to break into the top four after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Évian Thonon Gaillard FC. Meanwhile an Adrian Mutu penalty, 14 minutes from time, earned AC Ajaccio a point at AS Nancy-Lorraine, keeping the hosts rooted to the foot of the table.
