Two Ligue 1 sides fell victim to giant-killing acts in Saturday's Coupe de France games, with AC Ajaccio and Stade de Reims Champagne falling at the first hurdle.
With the top-tier clubs entering the competition at this stage, 1950 and 1958 French Cup winners Reims came unstuck at Stade Plabennecois, with Steven Coat pouncing for the fourth-level side on 27 minutes after the visitors had failed to make a clearance. Ajaccio, meanwhile, drew 1-1 at third-flight Rouen FC, but lost 3-2 on penalties after extra time, with no replays the rule in France's top cup competition.
Ligue 1's top four – Paris Saint-Germain FC, Olympique Lyonnais, Olympique de Marseille and Stade Rennais FC – enter the fray on Sunday.
