Paris Saint-Germain FC's Ligue 1 lead has been cut to three points after the capital side slumped to a 3-2 loss at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and second-placed Olympique Lyonnais returned to winning ways by dispatching FC Girondins de Bordeaux 4-0.

Unbeaten since 1 December, PSG went ahead when Alex headed in a Javier Pastore corner on 29 minutes. Relegation-threatened Sochaux responded through Sebastien Roudet, however, and Giovanni Sio then fired them ahead after the break from the edge of the area. A Jérôme Roussillon own goal brought the visitors level, but Sochaux enjoyed the final word as Cédric Bakambu found the net from close range with six minutes remaining.

That came after Lyon ended a run of two consecutive league defeats in style. Midfielder Clément Grenier struck a quarter of an hour in and Gueïda Fofana doubled Lyon's lead 20 minutes into the second half. Rémi Garde's charges, who lost 2-1 against Tottenham Hotspur FC in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 first leg on Thursday, went further ahead when Grenier scored from the spot, before Alexandre Lacazette swept in from outside the penalty area.

AS Saint-Étienne missed the chance to go fourth, after they were pegged back by Stade de Reims. Gaëtan Courtet grabbed the equaliser with 14 minutes left after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had put Les Verts ahead before the break.
