Juventus secured a 2-1 win at FC Internazionale Milano 2-1 in the Derby d'Italia to stay nine points clear of SSC Napoli on a day when all 20 Serie A sides were in action.

Fabio Quagliarella curled an effort under the bar from the edge of the area to give the Bianconeri the lead inside three minutes. Rodrigo Palacio's angled finish levelled matters early in the second half, but Alessandro Matri knocked in a Quagliarella centre to regain the lead six minutes later. Esteban Cambiasso was shown a red card in added time to compound the hosts' frustration as their European hopes were hit.

Napoli played in the late game and won 5-3 at Torino FC. Blerim Dzemaili's two goals had put Napoli 2-1 up but Torino then went ahead. However, Dzemaili completed his hat-trick and in the last six minutes substitute Edinson Cavani produced a fantastic free-kick and then headed another.

AC Milan prevailed 1-0 at AC Chievo Verona to remain on Napoli's tail and go six points ahead of fourth-placed ACF Fiorentina, beaten 2-1 at Cagliari Calcio. In a crucial match lower down the table, Genoa CFC drew 2-2 with AC Siena.
