For the second year in a row, the Football Association of Moldova (FMF) has hosted an international development tournament with the support of UEFA's HatTrick assistance programme.

Under-17 girls' teams from Moldova, Belarus and Slovakia took part in the event at the Moldovan national teams' training centre from 24–27 April and it was the home side, with two victories, who came out on top. These development tournaments – several of which have been held in various countries this spring – are real learning experiences for the players, not just in fine-tuning their skills through practice and guidance, but also in providing a taste of a highly competitive international environment.

"Entrusting the FMF for a second year with the organisation and staging of such a tournament shows a high level of appreciation and encouragement from UEFA. We believe this is down to the good working conditions available at the national teams' technical centre in Vadul lui Voda, built with the support and good will of UEFA by means of the UEFA HatTrick programme," said FMF president Pavel Cebanu.

UEFA technical observer Beatrice von Siebenthal added: "This is a great tournament to develop women's football by offering national women's U17 teams a chance to foster their skills in competitive international matches. I was pleased with the level of organisation and the atmosphere at the stadium."
