Liverpool FC have continued to refashion their squad, with RC Celta de Vigo forward Iago Aspas becoming the Premier League club's second signing in three days, moving to Anfield for around €8.2m.
The 25-year-old, who registered 12 goals in 34 Liga outings last term, has penned a "long-term" contract and teams up with compatriot Luis Alberto – recruited from Sevilla FC on Saturday. "It wasn't a tough decision at all," he said. "I'm really happy to have come to a big club like this. Having weighed up all my options, a massive club like Liverpool was always my first choice.
"I am a quick and skilful player," added Iago, who made 136 league appearances for Celta following his debut in 2008/09. "I've not had the chance to talk with the manager at any length but I think that good players can slot into any role and not just one set position."
Liverpool began their summer spending with the acquisition of experienced defender Kolo Touré last month after finishing the 2012/13 Premier League in seventh place. Brendan Rodgers' charges also reached the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League.
