Midfielder Maxym Biliy, who scored Ukraine's only goal at the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championships in Denmark, has died at the age of 24 following a long illness.

FC Zorya Luhansk midfielder Maxym Biliy has passed away at the age of 24 following a long illness.

The former Ukraine Under-21 international was born in Novomoskovsk and took his first steps in football at the local ISTA youth academy, later joining FC Kharkiv. When he was 18, he made his Ukrainian Premier League debut, by which time he had already been capped at U19 level. In 2011, he went to the UEFA European U21 Championships in Denmark, scoring Ukraine's only goal at the final tournament. In total, he made 29 appearances for Ukraine at various under-age levels, scoring five goals, but had not played in the last two years.
