Hervé Renard, who led Zambia to Africa Cup of Nations success in 2012, has been unveiled as Éric Hély's replacement as FC Sochaux-Montbéliard coach.
A former centre-back, the 45-year-old Renard takes the reins of a Ligue 1 club for the first time and will be reunited with Zambian international Emmanuel Mayuka. He will be present on Friday and, with the international break, has until 20 October to prepare his new players for his first match at the helm – at home to Ligue 1 leaders AS Monaco FC.
Les Lionceaux lie second-from-bottom after losing six of their opening nine games. Hély departed ten days ago and a trio of coaches including Omar Daf led them in a 4-1 defeat at FC Girondins de Bordeaux on Sunday.
