Crystal Palace FC have appointed Tony Pulis as manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Pulis takes over at Selhurst Park after Ian Holloway – the man who guided Palace to promotion last season – departed by mutual consent last month. Pulis assumes the reins with Palace bottom of the Premier League with just four points from their first 11 fixtures back in the English top flight. They are six points from safety.
Pulis left his role as manager of Stoke City FC at the end of the 2012/13 campaign, after seven years in charge. The 55-year-old took the Potters to the FA Cup final for the first time in 2011, though they lost to Manchester City FC. Stoke played in the UEFA Europa League the following season, eventually falling to a 2-0 aggregate defeat by Valencia CF in the round of 32.
Pulis will take charge of first-team affairs following Saturday's league game at Hull City AFC, with caretaker manager Keith Millen remaining in the dugout against the Tigers.
