The man who guided Les Bleus to FIFA World Cup glory on home soil in 1998, Aimé Jacquet has selected two of the current crop of France players in his 2013 UEFA.com users' Team of the Year.

FC Bayern München winger Franck Ribéry and Paris Saint-Germain's Blaise Matuidi form part of a four-man midfield, while the defence is led by another Ligue 1 representative, the "monster" that is Matuidi's club-mate Thiago Silva. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who have "performed at a very, very high level" this year, make up the forward line.

France's victory in the global showpiece was the crowning moment of Jacquet's 22-year coaching career. Now retired, he steered FC Girondins de Bordeaux to the semi-finals of the 1984/85 European Champion Clubs' Cup, where they lost to Juventus.

View Jacquet's choices below and submit your own selection before 13.00CET on Thursday 9 January.

Vote for your Team of the Year 2013

Manuel Neuer: The Germany goalkeeper has been fantastic this year.

Thiago Silva: A monster, and not only from a defensive perspective.

Philipp Lahm: I like him a lot on the flanks. He is magnificent and brings dynamism to his side.

Sergio Ramos: A phenomenal player who is especially good in the tackle and at anticipating situations.

Gérard Piqué: His first pass out from defence is often meaningful.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: Bayern had a phenomenal season and he played a key part in it.

Blaise Matuidi: I like Matuidi; he is a very talented player.

Arjen Robben: It's impossible to leave him out. He is a fantastic attacking midfielder.

Franck Ribéry: Naturally, I must choose Franck Ribéry. Sorry to be so French-minded, but he is a great player.

Lionel Messi: You can't omit him.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Cristiano Ronaldo, of course. Both attackers have performed at a very, very high level this year.
