Holders FC Bayern München won 2-0 at FC Augsburg as they, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt completed the quarter-final lineup.
Arjen Robben scored on four minutes to put Bayern ahead but he was to leave the pitch on a stretcher after injury before his replacement Thomas Müller sealed victory. Emre Can struck with 13 minutes left to give Leverkusen a 2-1 win at Bundesliga rivals SC Freiburg while a last-gasp Ivica Olić goal completed a comeback victory by the same score for Wolfsburg against FC Ingolstadt 04, whose fellow second-tier side SV Sandhausen came back from two behind to level only to lose 4-2 in Frankfurt.
Bayern, Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and Eintracht join Tuesday winners Hamburger SV, Borussia Dortmund, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and sole second division survivors 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the quarter-finals, played on 11 and 12 February.
Coppa Italia
FC Internazionale Milano, AC Chievo Verona and Atalanta BC won through to the last 16 after fourth-round victories. In the only all-Serie A encounter, Atalanta saw off US Sassuolo Calcio 2-0 to avenge last month's league defeat by the same score with goals from Moussa Kone and Guiseppe De Luca. AC Chievo Verona beat Serie B team Reggina Calcio 4-1 and FC Internazionale Milano secured a 3-2 win against Trapani Calcio, ending the Sicilian club's furthest-ever Coppa Italia run.
The last fourth-round tie is played when UC Sampdoria host Serie A rivals Hellas Verona FC on Thursday, with Parma FC and second-tier trio Spezia Calcio, AS Avelino and AC Siena having gone through on Tuesday.
