Paris Saint-Germain suffered their first Ligue 1 defeat of the season as they fell 2-0 at Évian Thonon Gaillard FC.

LOSC Lille and AS Monaco FC both won on Tuesday to move within one and two points of the reigning champions respectively, and that remains the case after Clarck N'Sikulu's 75th-minute goal and Modou Sougou's late effort proved enough to beat Paris.

AS Saint-Etienne missed the chance to move level on points with fourth-place Olympique de Marseille as they lost 3-1 at Stade Rennais FC, Silvio Romero striking twice. FC Girondins de Bordeaux are level with St-Etienne after Julien Faubert's goal saw off EA Guingamp as both teams ended with ten men.

AC Ajaccio drew 1-1 with SC Bastia to pull one point ahead of bottom side FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, beaten 2-0 at home by Stade de Reims. Montpellier Hérault SC remain fourth from bottom, reduced to nine men in a 2-0 home loss against FC Lorient.
