FC Chikhura Sachkhere are celebrating their first ever trophy win after defeating FC Dinamo Tbilisi 1-0 to lift the Georgian Super Cup.

Beaten 3-1 in last season's Georgian Cup final by double winners Dinamo – who have since lost coach Dušan Uhrin Jr. to FC Viktoria Plzeň – Chikhura gained revenge thanks to Dimitri Tatanashvili. Xisco Muñoz missed an early chance to put Dinamo ahead, but it was former Dinamo player Tatanashvili who decided the encounter, the top scorer in the Georgian Premier League breaking the deadlock after 57 minutes.

Goalkeeper Giorgi Somkhishvili then denied David Khurtsilava and Givi Kvaratskhelia to ensure a historic moment for Chikhura, and the first silverware in the career of the club's 56-year-old coach Samson Pruidze.
