Paris Saint-Germain have opened up a six-point gap at the top of Ligue 1 ahead of the rest of the weekend's games after sealing a 2-0 home win against FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
Pressing high up the pitch and proving solid at the back, seventh-placed Bordeaux kept their hosts at bay in the first half, only for their resistance to crumble shortly before the hour mark. Freed down the right, Lucas had time to pick out Zlatan Ibrahimović with a cross, and his team-mate found the net on the half-volley.
The capital side lost Edinson Cavani to a suspected thigh injury with 14 minutes remaining, yet they also gave a debut to January signing Yohan Cabaye, the former Newcastle United FC midfielder coming off the bench. It was centre-back Alex who sealed the points, though, scoring from a corner with 88 minutes gone to ensure that Paris will go into next Sunday's showdown with second-placed AS Monaco FC on top of the pile.
