Everton FC have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady for an undisclosed fee.
McGeady arrives at Goodison Park from FC Spartak Moskva, who he joined from Celtic FC in summer 2010. McGeady, who has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, won four Scottish Premier League titles in Glasgow, prompting a reported €11.6m move to the Russian capital – a record transfer involving a Scottish club.
The 27-year-old scored 11 goals in 67 Russian Premier League appearances for Spartak. He joins Ireland compatriots Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy at Everton, who were fifth in the Premier League table prior to Saturday's game against Norwich City FC.
