Tévez tips balance for Juventus in Turin derby

Serie A pacesetters Juventus took the bragging rights FC in the Turin derby with a 1-0 success against Torino FC, while AC Milan recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this term.

As in the reverse fixture, a single goal proved sufficient for Juve against their neighbours, and Carlos Tévez was the man to get it, finding the net in some style after half an hour. With his first touch, the Argentinian forward controlled a fizzing pass on the edge of the area, before swivelling and lashing the ball into the bottom-left corner with his second. The 30-year-old's 14th goal of the campaign restored his club's nine-point lead over AS Roma.

Meanwhile, Milan followed up last week's triumph against Bologna FC by prevailing 2-0 at ten-man UC Sampdoria. Adel Taarabt's fine start to his Rossoneri career continued when he nodded in a rebound to open the scoring, and defender Adil Rami headed the second – his second goal in four league matches – before the hosts had Maxi López sent off.

Elsewhere, Udinese Calcio fought back to hold Atalanta BC 1-1 – Antonio Di Natale moving into Serie A's top ten all-time scorers in the process – while, after going 3-0 up, Hellas Verona FC held on to beat AS Livorno Calcio 3-2.

Rolando struck shortly after half-time to earn fifth-placed FC Internazionale Milano a 1-1 draw against Cagliari Calcio, and AC Chievo Verona eased their relegation fears with a 2-0 win against Catania Calcio. In the late game, Ştefan Radu struck twice as SS Lazio downed bottom club US Sassuolo Calcio 3-2, the defender's winner coming seven minutes from time.
